Max Vredenburgh, nam sinh viên trường Đại học Suffolk ở Massachusetts, Mỹ đã nhận được phản hồi từ một người ở Pháp cho lá thư đựng trong chai mà cậu thả xuống biển vào năm 2010.
Vredenburgh cho biết, anh đã đặt bức thư vào một chai thủy tinh và thả xuống biển ở Long Beach, phía Bắc thành phố Boston, vào tháng 8/2010, khi anh mới 10 tuổi.
Theo The Guardian, cha của Vredenburgh đã nhắn tin cho anh vào thứ Sáu tuần trước (8/11), ông đã nhận được lá thư từ một người tên là G Dubois. Người này đã tìm thấy chai thư của Vredenburgh trên một bãi biển thuộc bờ biển Đại Tây Dương ở miền Nam nước Pháp vào ngày 10/10 năm nay.
G Dubois cho biết, chiếc chai đã vượt qua một hành trình dài 6.000km. Trong lá thư hồi đáp Vredenburgh, G Dubois đoán rằng sau 9 năm, chắc hẳn cậu bé gửi thư đã “lớn lên nhiều”. G Dubois cũng đính kèm một bản đồ có khoanh tròn khu vực bãi biển, nơi tìm thấy cái chai. Người này cũng gửi lại cho Vredenburgh bức thư năm xưa của anh.
Trong bức thư Vrendenburgh viết cách đây 9 năm, anh liệt kê một số thứ mình yêu thích như táo, bãi biển, động vật, ô tô. Anh cũng đề nghị người nhận thư phản hồi lại.
Vrendenburgh đã chia sẻ câu chuyện của mình trên Twitter.
Vredenburgh chia sẻ: “Tôi thực sự quá bất ngờ. Đã được 9 năm rồi”.

WOW: College student gets reply to message in bottle he sent nearly 10 years ago
A Suffolk University student got the surprise of a lifetime when his parents told him someone replied to the message in a bottle he had tossed in the ocean nearly 10 years ago.
"Oh my God. I was, like: 'Are you kidding me?" said sophomore Max Vredenburgh.
Vredenburgh was 10 years old when he wrote a letter on Aug. 21, 2010, and placed it in a bottle that was sent out to sea off Rockport's Long Beach.
"Hello, my name is Max. Whoever is reading this letter please write back," the letter reads. "I'll tell you a little bit about myself. I'm 10 years old, I like apples, I like the beach, my favorite color's blue, I like animals, I like cars and I like outer space. Please write back."
His parents got a letter from "G. Dubois," who claimed that Vredenburgh's bottle had crossed the Atlantic Ocean and landed 3,400 miles away in southern France nine years after he sent the message.
"I didn't even think it would make it there and if it did make it there, I didn't think that somebody would actually write a letter back," Vredenburgh said.
The identity of the person who wrote back, however, remains a mystery since all they left was an address.
Vredenburgh decided the best way to find out who sent him a reply is to write back.
"It's the human connection and, for me, it hit me on an emotional level because I reflected on myself and my past," he said. "I think, for other people, it might be doing the same."
